New employees are required to successfully complete a 90-day probationary period.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for safely operating plant equipment and producing quality products at two locations.
Loading/unloading materials and product.
Performing industrial sanitation and plant clean-up.
Contribute as a team member for operational, safety, and food safety teams.
Various operation based tasks that support our goals at Decatur.
Maintain and execute all food safety requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma/GED
Ability to be both a successful team contributor and work independently.
Ability to use a computer and navigate basic programs (i.e. Work, Excel, Outlook).
Able to fluently speak, read, write English
Ability and initiative to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Ability to follow documented processes i.e. SOPs.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to reliability and continuous improvement.
Proven strong attention to detail, problem solving and decision making.
Ability and willingness to obtain forklift certification.
Ability and willingness to frequently lift up to 65 lbs intermittently.
Ability and willingness to work overtime, including holidays and weekends as necessary.
Ability and willingness to travel between facilities as necessary.
Preferred:
Food industry experience
Knowledge of food safety, GMPs and HACCP
Basic maintenance experience
Forklift experience
This is a physically demanding job. You will be required to work in all types of weather conditions.
