Under supervision of OT Administrator the Workshop Program Evaluator performs the following duties.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coordinates, monitors & delivers vocational rehabilitation services to disabled clients, ages 18 through geriatrics: conducts interviews with clients to assess rehabilitation services needs; conducts vocational assessments; counsels clients on career planning; teaches job seeking skills to clients individually or in a group setting; develops or links clients to employment placements; monitors clients’ work performance & provides job coaching when needed; develops & provides vocational programming on & off the units; facilitates & supports mental health recovery for individuals with severe & persistent mental illness.
Represents rehabilitation services on more than one treatment team: plans & writes integrated rehabilitation goals, objectives intervention during treatment team meetings; monitors & reports clients progress; writes bi-weekly progress notes in clients’ chart; facilitates timely & meaningful communication between unit staff & rehabilitation staff; assists with therapeutic recreational activities as needed; monitors & compiles attendance reports of clients participating in rehabilitation services; assists in escorting to & from programs off units; participates in team meetings.
Responsible for completing referrals for rehabilitation services: facilitates individual & group counseling (e.g., vocational); facilitates rehabilitation assessments & referrals assists in planning & ordering rehabilitation Services programming materials; compiles statistical outcomes from programming materials; familiarize staff, state employees, tour groups with Rehabilitation Services; acts as liaison & maintains contact with other organizations or businesses regarding rehabilitation services.
Performs miscellaneous rehabilitation services duties to facilitate total integrated psychosocial rehabilitation recovery approach: involved in development & implementation of hospital-wide activities; serves on hospital-wide committees & teams; participates in departmental & mandated in-service training; performs other duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of graduate core program in human services area (e.g., rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, occupational therapy).
-Or 30 mos. exp. counseling persons who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled or other disadvantaged group of people.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in human services area (e.g., rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, and occupational therapy) & 12 mos. exp. counseling persons who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled or other disadvantaged group of people.
-Or alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
Major Worker Characteristics:
Knowledge of rehabilitation counseling; human services area (e.g., social work, sociology, psychology, special education, occupational therapy, guidance & counseling); pre-vocational rehabilitation evaluation & appraisal techniques*; available community & private resources*; occupational & labor market information*; labor & workers compensation laws & regulations relevant to handicapped workers*; public relations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions; write vocational assessment reports & rehabilitation plans; gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; develop good rapport with consumers; maintain accurate records; handle sensitive inquiries from & contacts with public, private employers, government & community service providers.
