The Wild Basin Lodge & Event Center is seeking a Banquet Captain to supervise, organize and control execution of weddings hosted at the facility. This position would work directly with customers, and all relevant departments assisting in hosting the event. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule and an ability to use sound judgement and tact in handling guest and staff requests.
Responsibilities Include:
Coordinate staff and resources to host events within the highest customer service standards Verify event sheets and ensure facility and rooms are ready for each event Delegate tasks to team members as appropriate Work with other department heads to coordinate timing and logistics of events Greet event contact(s), by name, and offer assistance with any guest or special setup needs Communicate event information to management via written nightly reports Work independently, with a minimum of supervision and guidance on established banquet service procedures Ensure proper and timely progression of event, including guest movement, food and beverage service and event end Clean and configure facility for next day’s events
Requirements: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays Ability to stand and move for long periods of time for duration of shift Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds without assistance is also required
Qualifications
Proficiency in English – both verbal and written Strong customer service skills Ability to follow all applicable laws, policies and procedures including but not limited to attendance, appearance, safety, and security Ability to lead banquet team in a confident, professional manner Ability to laugh and have a positive attitude Minimum one year experience as Banquet Captain in restaurant/banquet industry
