Responsibilities
The Medical Billing Intern supports our Ambulatory - Patient Accounting group. Interns will have the responsibility for posting medical charges, payments, and journal entries to patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner. In this internship, you will also process insurance claim denials, file appeals, and coordinate with insurance companies. The Medical Billing Internship is designed for students that are in school pursuing studies in medical billing and/or coding to gain real world experience. Cerner';s Medical Billing Interns work in a close team environment to meet daily, monthly and quarterly billing metrics. Other responsibilities include answering patient account balance questions, verifying correct insurance filing information on behalf of the client and patient, verifying receipt of all patient registration data from client, and notifying client of potential coding problems.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualfications:
-Enrollment in an approved Medical Billing and/or Coding program -Minimum 3.00 Cumulative GPA -Ability to work effectively on a team to coordinate assignments and meet client goals -Attention to detail -Displays exemplary organizational skills -Strong verbal and written communication skills -U.S. Work Authorization Required -Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite -Must reside or be willing to relocate to Headquarters in the Kansas City metropolitan area Preferred Qualifcations:
-Ability to work in a self-guided, self-paced environment with strong attention to detail -Solid understanding of the healthcare industry and reimbursement process -Knowledge of practice management or healthcare billing

-Solid understanding of the healthcare industry and reimbursement process -CPC certified or other CPT certification

They are currently looking for multiple Cerner openings - contract to perm - primarily in Interfaces, Cerner Core and Clin Doc.

Job Description for Analyst Role:
The Associate is responsible for designing, building and testing solutions that improve the clinicians work flow as well as performing routine support and maintenance of Cerner Millennium solutions.

Some examples of these responsibilities might include:

Participate in and provide input to individual team solution informational overviews. Participate in successful (on time, on budget, and quality) development and implementation of application projects. Participate in enhancement design sessions. Complete requirements gathering and documentation with clear definition of what is in and out of scope. Update support and maintenance documentation as needed. Lead and participate in team Peer Review sessions for enhancements and break fixes. Provide input and participate in change control meetings. Handle production problems and resolve issues for assigned Cerner Millennium solutions. Participate in application upgrades, including writing new test scripts as needed, conducting testing, working with end users on newly added (or modified) functionality, and supporting the upgrade's migration into PROD. Participation in other application upgrades patch installations and infrastructure changes that impact Cerner Millennium's EHR including project coordination, conducting Regression Testing, and supporting the move to PROD. Provide production support on a 24x7 basis within a support team within an on-call rotation.
Requirements

Contract to perm positions available:

Core Interface Analyst:

Experience designing and building Cerner Millennium interfaces

Core CCL/Rule Analyst:

Experience with Discern Rules, CCL reports

Cerner Powerchart analyst:

Experience in the Cerner Powerchart module, experience writing test scripts, testing MPages

Cerner Scheduling/PM (Person Mgmt) analyst:

Experience implementing Cerner Scheduling and/or Cerner Person Mgmt module

Powernote Analysts

Experience with designing, building and troubleshooting, and training Powernote users.

Orders Analyst:

Experience with CPOE, Powerplan build, multi facility hospitals, Caresets, Med Rec

Clin Doc Analysts:

Experience building Powerforms, IView, PAL, task lists

Cerner Anesthesia Analyst:

Experience designing and maintaining the Cerner Anesthesia module.

Cerner Radnet Analyst:

Will bring a thorough understanding of RadNet operations, Radiology workflow, technical understanding of RadNet/Cerner/HL7/PACS/Dictation, and remediation capabilities for this important support role.
