The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), is seeking candidates for the position of
Bilingual (Spanish/English) Medicaid Eligibility Staff /
Right From The Start (MES/RSM) in Decatur / DeKalb County.Our MES/RSM Staff will accept applications and determine eligibility for Right from the Start Medicaid (RSM) Outreach Project. RSM is a project which provides medical assistance to pregnant women, low income families, Aged/Blind/Disabled (ABD) residents, and children up to age 19 years. Additionally the MES/RSM Staff is responsible for educating the public about RSM, PeachCare for Kids, Planning for Healthy Babies, Long Term Care, and other programs by conducting outreach and presentations to community organizations, churches, schools, community events, businesses, etc.
Multi-county travel and giving public speaking/presentations to diverse audiences are routine job duties performed by our MES. The MES may be required to manually calculate budgets to determine eligibility. As such the ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, division, etc) is required.
This position is not located in the local DFCS office and will operate under a non traditional schedule. Nontraditional hours are hours other than 8-5/Monday through Friday. This can include early morning, late evenings, and/or weekend.
Our candidate is Bilingual (Spanish/English) and will have an Undergraduate degree and 12 months customer service and/or volunteer-community work
or
High School Diploma/GED and 5 years experience which involved screening or interviewing customer/clients
or
12 months as a Economic Support Specialist/Associate (FICM/Associate)
Medicaid or comparable program eligibility experience is desired, but not required
