Job Description:

GoAhead Solutions has an immediate need for an Implementation Engineer in New York, NY. This would be a six month contract to start out.

Job Description:

-Specifically this role will involve working / assisting on deploying various projects currently being implemented by the Clients News Editorial and Media team. 

-The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for delivering key parts of the projects assigned to them.

-An advantage for the successful candidate to have is experience in both Windows and Solaris operating systems. 

-This is an exciting opportunity to be involved building a number of medium to large scale production environments used to supply Clients strategic product sets.

Core Technical Skills:

-Windows Installation / Administration including 2008.

-MS Clustering.

-Active Directory Administration.

-Good understanding of IP networking and firewall technologies.

Advantages Technical Skills:

-Solaris Installation / Administration including v10.

-Veritas Clustering.

-SAN configuration on Unix and Wintel OS.

-Tivoli suite of management products such as GMI.

-MacAfee anti-virus suite.

-Automated patch deployment.

-Patching of both Unix and Wintel OS.

-Web server technologies such as IIS / Apache.

-Database knowledge such as MS SQL.

-Virtualisation technologies such as VMware.

Advantages Qualifications:

-Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification.

-Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification.

-Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification.

-Sun Certified System Administration.

Functional Skills:
-Produce service documentation for support to the required high standard.

-The ability to follow standards and processes (such as change and release management) is a must for this role.

-ITIL Based release management / change process.

Soft Skills:

-Ability to work with large groups / teams and individually with minimum supervision.

-Prioritise and mange work load accordingly to achieve the required dead lines

-Ability to multitask, and work under pressure with changing priorities is essential to this role.

-Be self-motivated and self-reliant.

-The successful candidates will posses good communication skills (both written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills.

-A background in a busy operational or service delivery environment would also be advantageous.

-Work within flexible start times (between 8am and 10am) Monday to Friday. The flexibility to work weekends when the work demands require it.

This software house is the world leader in the provision of software systems to the music and entertainment industry. They are looking for an IT. professional experienced in managing the implementation of enterprise software in the Film or TV industry to join their expanding LA office.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The experience required for this role is as follows:

At least 5 years of commercial IT. Project Management experience where you were acting for an IT. service provider such as a systems integrator, software house or IT. consultancy, with end-user companies as your client, as opposed to solely internal project management. At least five years experience implementing enterprise software package solutions: software PRODUCTS as opposed to bespoke projects (for our definition of enterprise software ) . Previous experience in the Film or TV sector Experience of managing multiple projects at once, as opposed to sequential projects Previous experience in client-facing situations as well as strong customer service experience. Excellent communication skills; a high standard of oral and written English. Willingness to travel (up to 25%) throughout Europe and to the east coast of the US

The above experience is essential. You require all of the above experience in order for to be eligible for this role.

By enterprise software we mean any of:

ERP software like JD Edwards, Baan, Oracle Applications, PeopleSoft, SAP CRM Software Large financial systems B2C financial software Billing systems Banking systems

THE JOB:

This role is essentially 50% client-facing and 50% internal mentoring and management. You will be prioritising the scheduling of implementations, working cross-function or cross-department in order to achieve common company goals and then managing the end-to-end implementation of enterprise software.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Initially, you would be managing one product, and would then take over other product lines as you progress. You'd be working on what is the company's flagship product, currently the largest product in the US and soon to be the largest in the entire company. The career path here is to take over other product lines as you progress and move up. This is a direct line to senior management, cutting out the bureaucracy where you can make a real difference and impact on the products and company.

Overall, this is a great place to work - it's a privately-owned company and feels more like a family company, not at all institutionalised - everyone has a stake, everyone has a say. Being music, entertainment and film it's an interesting industry to work in too, with a wide range of clients both local and foreign.
