Social Impact (SI) is a Washington, DC-area international development management consulting firm. SI’s mission is to improve the effectiveness of international development programs in improving people’s lives. We provide a full range of management consulting, technical assistance, and training services to strengthen international development programs, organizations, and policies. We provide services globally in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, project and program design, organizational capacity building, and gender and social analysis. SI services cross-cut all development sectors including democracy and governance, health and education, the environment, and economic growth. SI’s clients include US government agencies such as USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the US Department of State, bilateral donors, multilateral development banks, foundations, and non-profits.
Position Description:
SI is committed to enriching student’s abilities to get broad exposure to international development consulting and deepen their international development management skills. We are seeking candidates for an internship (6 months, flexible) on our Budget and Pricing Team. The intern will support the development and financial management of multiple projects, gaining experience in business management, budgeting and a thorough understanding of development contracting mechanisms.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the preparation of business proposals to a wide variety of clients, including USAID, the US Department of State, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation
- Preparing analytical reports regarding business operations and project financial management
- Researching the competitive landscape for potential contracts and writing background documents for business proposals
- Other special projects, as-needed
Interns will also have opportunities to attend various DC events to further career development.
Qualifications:
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or current Bachelor’s or Master’s degree candidates
- Familiarity with MS Office and MS Excel required
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize within a multi-tasking environment
- Interest in international development field is preferred
