Our client an expanding IT Services company requires a seasoned Plc, Group FD, with the ability to set the Group’s financial agenda, you will be responsible for directing the overall financial strategy of the business, ensuring that all financial compliance and reporting requirements are met and are in line with Group policy and best practice.


Your brief will be to deliver transparency and visibility of business performance through budget setting, financial controls, cost control and forecasting. With responsibility for all areas of cash management, tax planning, banking, treasury management and company secretarial duties you must ensure the Group maximises its cash and operating position at all times by striking a balance between commercial and professional good practice.


As a qualified accountant, you must be able to combine strategic level exposure with broad ranging financial and people management experience. An MBA from a leading business institute is desirable.


As the group prides itself on being financially led you must be able to demonstrate strong technical ability and have up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of financial reporting and compliance.


On a personal level you will be able to demonstrate a strategic mind-set with a truly ‘feet on the ground’ and hands-on approach, coupled with the gravitas and the necessary influencing skills to operate at board level.


You will possess the ability to challenge common opinions and perceptions within the company, in order to ensure the most effective method of working. Superb communication and leadership skills are a prerequisite and you must be confident when presenting to senior management and stakeholders.


The position is managing a large team (directly and indirectly):



• Provide effective support to the COO in the delivery of the finance objectives and initiatives.
• Develop and deliver on time robust, value added monthly reporting to the Board covering all aspects of P&L, balance sheet, capex reporting, variance analysis, detailed commentary etc.
• Ensure compliance with banking warranties and covenants.
Provide effective leadership and supervision to direct reports to meet departmental and personal objectives.
• Recruiting, leading, motivating and managing the finance team.
• Providing accurate, timely and insightful management information, analysis and consolidated management/statutory reporting across the Group.
• Running and developing the 5 year model for the group including case for capital and investment scenario modelling and providing recommendations for allocation of capital.
• Advising on technical accounting issues and major non-routine transactions ensuring robust financial control across the business.
• Providing divisional/commercial support.
• Supporting senior stakeholders in monitoring and reporting performance for the business
• Systems enhancement to ensure that the business is maximising the use of automation in its objective of delivering quality information.
• Management of all tax related issues.
• Overall responsibility of the timely preparation of statutory accounts for all business areas and other externally required information.
• Responsible for the implementation of BS ISO / IEC 27001 data security management, whilst upholding the ethos of the standard, associated legislation, Company procedures and policies.
• Ad hoc projects.
