The Public Library Association (PLA) seeks a Project Coordinator for a grant-funded performance measurement project. The PC will assist the Project Manager primarily in the communication and online aspects of the three-year, $3 million grant to develop library outcome measures libraries can use for strategic decision making, planning, and advocacy.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will assist with the development and implementation of the PLA Impact Assessment Data program, a national initiative funded by a three-year, $3 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Working with the PLA Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will manage the communication and online technical support needs for the project and its participants. Duties include oversight of the external-facing website as well as the internal data-entry portal, some database and web content maintenance and addressing related participant inquires.


The PC will assist with developing internal and external communications to build awareness and interest in the project via the website, social media, through PLA communications, and other external channels. Additional duties include the coordination, planning, scheduling and registration assistance for in person and online events and meetings and overseeing the reimbursement of participants as needed. The PC reports to the Project Manager.


The position requires a team player with strong communication and web-based skills.


BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
Three to four years project coordination, web and/or database maintenance, and event coordination experience with demonstrated increase in responsibility. Bachelors degree preferred. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and must be able to multitask and achieve results with short deadlines. Excellent customer service skills are a must.


Starting salary range from 40K; negotiable based on relevant experience and qualifications. ALA has an excellent benefit package that includes paid vacation and a retirement annuity.
