Chemonics seeks a project management associate for our East Africa Regional Business Unit. The East Africa region’s portfolio includes eight projects in five countries spanning a wide range of technical sectors. The specific role will be determined by the successful candidate’s qualifications and the region’s staffing needs. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest portfolios in the company and contribute in a dynamic forward new business market. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.


Responsibilities include:


• Provide day-to-day support to project teams
• Communicate and assist with field office requests
• Recruit and field consultants
• Liaise with home-office support divisions on contract-related procurements, accounting, personnel issues, and travel
• Maintain project files
• Participate on proposal teams and new business initiatives


Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; master’s degree preferred
• Minimum one year of relevant work experience required
• Knowledge of current industry trends and resources, and USAID operations relevant to health preferred
• Strong writing and interpersonal skills
• Strong organization skills and ability to multitask on a fast-moving team
• Ability to travel to rural and/or fragile environments
• Experience in Africa preferred
• Proficiency in French or Spanish preferred
