Assistant, Student Services - Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College - Asheville, NC

Assists students and visitors in the K. Ray Bailey Student Services Center through face-to-face, phone, and electronic communications.

Duties

1. Provides tier 1 services to students, visitors, and College employees, supporting admissions, registration, advising, and other Student Services activities;

2. Provides students and visitors with in-depth information related to curriculum enrollment and registration and provides tier 1 information about all other College services;

3. Directs students and visitors to the appropriate departments according to Student Services’ procedures;

4. Maintains an organized, positive, and inviting environment in the Service Desk area at all times;

5. Provides superior service to all visitors and College employees; acts as a representative of the College to all visitors and as a representative of Student Services to all College employees;

6. Assists students with online procedures related to enrollment, registration, and student accounts in the Student Services computer lab;

7. Assists with making and distributing student ID cards as needed;

8. Assists with outbound calls, inbound calls, email correspondence, and live web chat as needed;

9. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

1. Associate’s degree;

2. Two years of experience working in a college Student Services environment OR three years of experience working in face-to-face customer service;

3. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications


Preferred Requirements

1. Three years of experience working in one or more of the following Student Services areas: Admissions, Records and Registration, Financial Aid, Advising, Student Advising & Counseling, Career Services, Student Life & Development, or One-Stop Service Center;

2. Bachelor’s degree
