Description of Duties:


The Communications & Media Intern will work closely with the Operations Director to plan, execute, and assess a communications strategy for Mali Health. Primarily, this position will involve:


  • Coordinating with staff to produce regular blog posts

  • Posting fresh, relevant, and engaging content to social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & LinkedIn) on a daily basis

  • Updating the organization’s website to reflect important changes, such as new programming

  • Working with volunteer translators to keep the French-language website up-to-date with the English website

  • Tracking media outreach and performance using tools such as Google Analytics

  • Managing Mali Health’s Google AdWords account

  • Editing monthly program reports from Mali-side staff for release to supporters

  • Compiling content for and editing bi-monthly newsletters for supporters

  • Working with the Operations Director on new media, such as videos, webinars, and other opportunities to boost supporter engagement

The intern will also assist in the preparation and coordination of communications materials for Mali Health’s fundraising efforts in June and December 2016. This will involve coordinating with staff both in the US and in Mali to gather content such as pictures, videos, and testimonials for inclusion in fundraising messages.


This position requires a commitment of 15hrs per week, including weekly check-ins with the Operations Director in our Boston, MA office.


Qualifications:


A background in Communications or Marketing is required. Proficiency in French is a strong plus.
