Summary:

There are 5 primary responsibilities of this position:


  • Ensure accuracy of site inventory.

  • Ensure proper orchestration of Inventory Management systems at a site including:

  • SAP inventory, waste and re-work transactions.

  • MES actual consumption transactions.

  • Waste system (Wars or other) transactions.

  • MES telemetry transactions.

  • MES inventory reporting.

  • Expert functional support for timely and accurate resolution of SAP COGI transaction errors at the site.

  • Perform Data Key User & Inventory Control Key User roles at a site.

  • Perform SAP Production implementation and maintenance role at the site.

  • Assign Asset Tags to Components.

  • Ensure MES integration as required.

  • Amend BOM master data in production systems.

  • Create and maintain resources and routings.

  • Assign Process Instructions.

  • Amend Standard Running Condition settings.

  • Coordinate recipe usability with R&D.

  • This position will be responsible for auditing the cycle count adjustments at the site, auditing the inventory accuracy of raw/packs stores at the site and insuring proper inventory accuracy business processes are being followed.

  • This position will be the Data & Inventory Control Key User and will provide the first level of support for Data & Inventory Control questions at a site. Additional Data & Inventory Control Key User responsibilities include: monitoring site business process conformance and reporting business process issues, implementing process continuous improvements, supporting local implementation of SAP/MES upgrades, training end users, and providing ideas for regional functional requirements.

  • This position requires an in-depth understanding of the Inventory Control business processes, the SAP transactions that support the business processes and the MES / Waste systems that support the business processes.

  • The position is responsible for auditing and ensuring the accuracy of static and transactional data and performing follow-up activities to correct errors in reporting and procedures.

  • This position requires an in-depth understanding of BOMs, Recipes, and the Change control process as it relates to insuring that SAP data is properly configured and setup for the site.

Principal Accountabilities:

Coordinates, audits and troubleshoots all static inventory data and dynamic inventory transactions in SAP and MES databases. MES includes MES production execution systems and Waste/WARS systems. Assures data is consistent with the documented GRD standards. Audits daily transactions and work-in-progress inventories (WIP) and initiates problem-solving activities, ensuring that errors are corrected by the appropriate associates and that understanding is gained about proper procedures.


1. Assures data is consistent with the documented GRD standards.


2. Provides support for analyzing and correcting transactional and data set SAP (COGI) errors. Responsible for coordinating and overseeing MES inventory transactional errors. Provides support for monitoring and resolving interfacing errors between SAP, MES and VLM.


3. Provide the functional support for Data & Inventory Control questions and issue resolution at a site. Monitor site business process conformance and report business process issues. Implement inventory control process continuous improvements. Support local implementation of SAP / MES upgrades. Provide ideas for regional functional requirements.


4. Ensure user training and provide support for Data & Inventory Control business processes. This includes business process knowledge training, SAP transactional training, MES actual consumption training, and Waste system training.

5. Documents and coordinates changes in business processes across all plant functions. Researches, communicates and implements new functionality and methods. Supports and assists in the development and testing of future system enhancements. Assure documentation and coordination for changes in procedures across all plant functions.


6. Reviews SAP & MES transactions and reports – is an expert resource for problem resolution.


7. Oversees accuracy of work-in-progress inventories.


8. Represents the plant, supports and assists future system enhancements. Is proactive in initiating improvements.


9. Audits and makes adjustments on Bill of Material, Formula, Part Record, accuracy and reports Inventory Record Accuracy.


10. Analyzes transactional problems with SAP, MES or VLM.


11. Coordinates problems with GST with other Key Users at the site, and Key Users at other sites, and with the Functional expert to ensure that problems are resolved quickly.


12. Provide 1st level support for EDI communication troubleshooting and part configuration.


Operating Environment and Guidance:


Atlas Data & Inventory Control Template business processes will be followed. Atlas Data & Inventory Control training packages will be used & enhanced for the site. MES business processes, training, packages will be used & enhanced.


Decision Making Authority:


Decision Recommendations


  • Cycle count inventory due to inaccurate reporting. Modify recipes according to correct usage.

  • Process for doing transactions and ownership for these transactions with the central SAP team. – Recommend commercial/logistics to order more or cancel depending on cycle count. Recommend R&D to review ingredient usage and change when needed.

  • Any changes that need to be done with the process for transactions will be by the recommendation of this role to operations.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Requires understanding of Inventory & Inventory Control Business Processes.

  • Requires understanding of SAP Site Data & Site Change Control business processes.

  • Requires proficient use of SAP, MES, Waste systems (including WARS) and VLM.

  • Requires proficient use of computers, databases, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Knowledge of how computers systems interact and network a plus.

  • Requires excellent math skills and troubleshooting skills.

  • Requires training skills.

B. Indicate how knowledge and skills are typically acquired.

  • Site Data, Site Change Control, Inventory & Inventory Control business processes can be learned by working with inventory at the site, receiving training from Key users and visiting other sites.

  • Knowledge of business systems comes through training and constant use.

  • Knowledge of computers and computer applications comes from education, training and constant use.

  • Math, troubleshooting and training skills are learned through education and application.

Education:

  • Degree in Computer, Controls, Math Sciences and/or Logistics preferred or applicable work experience.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years relevant work experience in operations, scheduling and/or logistics related environment. BS in engineering, supply chain or sciences could be substituted for work experience.

  • Experience in managing inventories, BOMs, Recipes, using SAP, using MES and/or troubleshooting system transactional errors a plus.
