United States of America: Specialist, Operational Analyst


Job Summary


The Specialist, Operational Analyst, reporting to the Director of Compliance and Grant Administration, will support the full portfolio of programs in alignment with CMMB’s global strategy. This position will be based in New York, NY and may require short-term travel to South Sudan, Kenya, Zambia, Haiti and/or Peru.


Key Responsibilities


The Specialist will be expected to (but not limited to):


  1. Holistically analyze and make recommendations related to performance of individual Country Offices by closely monitoring their strategic use of restricted versus unrestricted funds, monthly burn rates, cash requests, timesheet allocations, and subrecipient invoices.

  2. Support proposal development process as directed by assisting on budgets, narratives, certifications, and coordination with other departments (such as Partnerships or Finance).

  3. Assist Country Offices with developing quarterly, annual and final financial reports for USG, multilateral and private donors and ensuring grant or contract terms and conditions are met.

  4. Assist in development of CMMB global policies and monitoring systems (such as for timesheet allocations and performance on balanced scorecard indicators).

  5. Maintain and update award tracking sheet, templates, and compliance intranet.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required


· Committed to CMMB mission, values and strategy; comfortable working for a faith-based organization


· Strong communication, teamwork, interpersonal, diplomatic, cross-cultural and business process skills


· Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and databases


· Ability to multi-task effectively under tight deadlines


· General knowledge of accounting, finance, and cash flow


Preferred


· Experience with grants, contracts, and/or USG cooperative agreements


· Knowledge of US government compliance regulations and NICRA


· Demonstrated interest in or knowledge of maternal/child health, nutrition, water/sanitation, or HIV/AIDS


· Knowledge of foreign languages (especially French or Spanish)


· International experience (especially in hardship locations)
