United States of America: Senior Development Specialist, Development Operations and Research


The Senior Specialist, Development Operations and Research, oversees private sector business development operations including both fundraising and donor communication systems, policies, and procedures. The Senior Specialist will also lead private sector prospect research for MSH.
Specific Responsibilities


Development Technology Management (25%)


  • Manages and implements technology solutions for private sector donor development including Salesforce, the primary donor database. Manages tools for prospect research, wealth screening, email communications, and donation management. Manages relationships with vendors and partners.

Donor Data Management (25%)


  • Manages private sector fundraising platforms, including donor tracking, data management, analysis, and reporting. GPMC lead for Salesforce data maintenance and tracking, including private sector cultivation tracking, revenue reporting, revenue forecasting, portfolio management, and fundraising reports.

GPMC Operations (30%)


  • Primary liaison between GPMC, IT and finance. Supports GPMC VP in developing annual budgets and work plans. Creates and documents private sector development policies and procedures. Provides team with reports needed to track budgets. Project manager for initiatives such as the GPMC Operational Plan. Manages Development Operations intern.

Prospect Research (20%)



  • Leads prospect management and research for private sector funders at MSH, including prospect management strategy, tools, processes and procedures.




  • BA in a field of study closely related to the assigned responsibilities is required.



  • 4 years of experience.

Preferred


  • MA in a field of study closely related to the assigned responsibilities is preferred.

  • 2 years of experience with a MA.

Knowledge and Skills


  • Salesforce proficiency, certification preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

  • Superior proficiency in Excel

  • Experience in developing non-profit budgets and work plans

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

  • Familiarity with prospect research tools

  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Excellent English language skills (speaking and writing); other language skills are an advantage (e.g. Russian).

Physical Demands


  • International and domestic travel up to 30%.

  • Keyboard use, Pulling drawers, Lifting papers <10lbs.
