Responsible for the integrated communication and promotion of divisional programs and services. Collaborates with others to develop and implement programs and communications materials for targeted audiences which enhance awareness and utilization of divisional programs and services. Creates effective promotional materials including articles, brochures, forms and flyers. Designs, oversees and updates a website to educate and to promote activities and programs; coordinates website with other related websites. May manage a budget. May assist in evaluating, measuring and responding to issues related to the quality of services provided. May conduct evaluations, surveys and focus groups to assist in quality improvement efforts. Researches constituents’ satisfaction with divisional programs and services. Develops reports and recommendations to sustain high quality. May supervise or provide direction to staff. Leads projects as assigned. Serves as an internal marketing consultant for programs and services. May be responsible for managing various aspects of social media activities. Performs related responsibilities as required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Partnerships and Communications Manager serves as a key liaison to donors and other partners, and directs the development and implementation of targeted communications strategies with key partners: donors, research partners, large international agencies and corporations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of short- and long-term strategic plans for partnership development, undertaking new initiatives and projects to recruit new partners and develop relationships, and developing and managing project communication materials and media.
Partnership Development
· Oversees the planning and execution of the Annual Meeting of the Partnership for Influenza Vaccine Introduction, a forum to promote collaboration among the full range of stakeholders.
· Conducts relevant background research to identify potential donors; may work with and direct external consultants.
· Manages communications, contracts and information with partners and external vendors in support of Partnership contributions to partner countries.
· Establishes and nurtures strong relationships with project partners by providing frequent communication updates.
· Identifies and ensures availability of Partnership information to fulfill information requests by donors and key stakeholders.
Communications
· Develops and implements a communications strategy to galvanize stakeholders, provide essential information, and build the Partnership.
· Oversees and guides revision of the project web site
· Creates and disseminates communications on progress being made by the Partnership and its partners including press releases, web content, presentations and targeted partner content.
· Maintains Partnership contact database.
· Takes notes and writes reports of meetings and workshops supported by the Partnership.
· Fosters project team communication through participation in team meetings, taking meeting minutes, developing status reports, and managing action and issues log.
· Proofreads, formats, and finalizes documents, including grant reports, communications, and manuscripts for submission.
· Develops materials for the Task Force for Global Health (TFGH) as required, including the TFGH Annual Report.
Other Responsibilities
· Attends conferences, participates in meetings and reviews relevant literature to maintain current knowledge of the field.
· Participates fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health by contributing, assisting and participating in projects, activities, and initiatives as requested by management.
TRAVEL: 10-20% travel (both domestic and internationally) required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field. Five years of experience in the development of marketing and informational materials, writing/research, and project management. Knowledge of publishing and other related software. Demonstrated creativity in the design of marketing, public relations or educational programs and communications materials.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master’s degree in partnership development, health communications, public health, or related field.
· Familiarity with influenza and vaccine-preventable diseases.
· Demonstrated track record of success in building, leading, facilitating, and managing partnerships; demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of global health leaders.
· Outstanding communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills.
· Demonstrated experience writing technical reports and meeting reports.
· Experience working with donors and writing grant reports.
· Experience working with governments of low- and middle-income countries.
· Background in journalism &/or design is desired, but not mandatory.
