To meet and interact with clients regarding their charges and accounts; perform clerical and administrative tasks relating to clients’ accounts, as well as retrieval, storage and processing medical and financial documents. Cashiers will also work with doctors and clients in maintaining financial accounts and will be responsible for admitting patients during certain shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to handle cash and credit transactions
- Must be able to speak and communicate with clients in person and via telephone
- Must be able to multi-task and deal with stressful situations in addition to demanding and conflicting priorities
- Must be able to demonstrate organizational skills, have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, able to remain calm in all situations, and the ability to adjust and adhere to changes in procedures
- Able to understand and work with data entry, credit card terminals, have knowledge and/or ability to learn medical terminology
- Must be able to learn and keep track of fees schedules and applications.
Qualifications:
- High school or G.E.D; Some college preferred – Minimum of 2 yrs directly related experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing and coding a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and staff
- Ability to take direction well and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to operate credit card terminals and other basic equipment
- Must be dependable and able to work well with others
- Must have exceptionally strong proofreading skills
