United States of America: PATHWAYS TEAM LEADER



CARE is seeking a Team Leader (TL) to lead the quality implementation of the Pathways program, which seeks to empower poor women smallholder farmers and to increase their productivity in more equitable agricultural systems at scale across six countries. The Pathways program is an anchor initiative under the Food Nutrition Security (FNS) portfolio, as a member of the matrixed FNS structure, the Team Leader will also contribute significantly to FNS priorities and programs, and reporting directly to the Director Agriculture & Market System Team.


Responsibilities


The Pathways Team Leader will primarily be responsible for the following:


  • Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision for staff under him/her and ensure best talents are retained and motivated and program goals achieved;

  • Provide strategic direction and overall program management;

  • Contribute to the FNS Learning, Research and Advocacy Team to generate knowledge, tools, advocacy content to influence practice and policy;

  • Mobilize resources to expand Pathways or key components in current and new countries and contribute to other funding priorities for the FNS Unit;

  • Represent Pathways and the FNS Unit with various stakeholders, including donors and policy makers and contribute to FNS positionning & influencing strategy.

Qualifications


  • Master degree in international development, agriculture, management, Anthropology, Sociology or other related degree;

  • 7 to 10 years or more of demonstrable experience managing development programs in an international setting;

  • Experience in donor relations and resource mobilization;

  • Program leadership, Strategic Planning, Project Planning and Execution;

  • Experience in food and livelihood security, and gender and women empowerment programs;

  • Program conceptualization and design;

  • Demonstrated ability to design and lead impact assessments, M&E and research plans for food and nutrition security related program;

  • Professional connections with stakeholders spanning donors, academic institutions, NGOs and the private sector that can be leveraged to support FNS’s work;

  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and operationalize program strategies;

  • Strong and demonstrated experience in training and mentoring of adult learners and mid-level professionals;

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities (multi-tasking) and drive results in a timely manner

  • Financial and grant management;

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills, particularly communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences including conducting training events for adults and professional.
