Additionally, you would:
Answer incoming calls, greeting callers, providing information, transferring calls and/or taking messages as necessary.
Greet and assist visitors and control the lobby atmosphere and appearance.
Provide general information to customers regarding Metro policies, procedures, routes and schedules.
In a backup capacity, answer the customer service line, retrieve emails from the company’s website, and listen to messages on the customer service voicemail. Respond to all communications as necessary.
Read daily newspapers, magazines, newsletters, internet, etc. for articles concerning transportation.
Perform clerical duties, such as typing, proofreading, accepting orders, sorting mail, recordkeeping and copying.
Receive and sort incoming and interoffice mail. Weigh and apply postage to outgoing mail using a postage meter machine.
Qualifications:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
One to two years related experience
Working knowledge of computers and willingness to learn new systems (COM system, Trapeze, TransitMaster, eFare, OTP); headway data sheets, word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and e-mail.
Excellent customer service experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Multi-line switchboard experience.
General office equipment experience, i.e. copier, fax, postage meter machine, etc.
