Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is searching for a Manager General Manufacturing 3 to lead manufacturing operations in our Madison, Alabama manufacturing facility. This position will be responsible for the following: • Successful execution of manufacturing operations supporting multiple Northrop Grumman programs across the Mission Systems Sector. This would include planning, risk management, and project performance addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality for manufacturing related Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements. • Working with Finance and Business representatives to establish, and monitor indirect budgets related to Manufacturing • Directing the activities of up to 10 direct reports to lead and manage a manufacturing organization of 50+ employees • Interfacing with other Mission Systems manufacturing sites to communicate, evaluate, and apply best practices • Identify areas for potential operational improvement and tasking direct reports with evaluation and implementation activities which will be executed in a team environment leveraging kaizen activities to apply lean manufacturing principles. • Establishing and maintaining direct communication with internal customer leadership such as program directors and program managers • Supporting business development and proposals which relate to manufacturing activities. This would include written input to proposal volumes, development or review of labor BOE’s, development of execution strategies. • Internal business development activities to communicate capabilities to prospective internal customers • Review and evaluation of manufacturing metrics to insure effective manufacturing execution. • Development of long and short range performance goals, and flow down of goals to direct reports and other members of the manufacturing organization. • Direct interface with external customers (US Government and Foreign) in matters related to manufacturing capabilities, ongoing manufacturing operations, and issue resolution. • Conducting briefings and technical meetings related to manufacturing for internal and external customers to include senior Department of Defense representatives and senior Northrop Grumman leadership. • Working with Mission Assurance leadership and representatives to insure quality standards are maintained. • Providing leadership / delegation of authority to review, update, and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
