Position Overview

The Employment Services Associate (ESA) is responsible for coaching job seekers who have completed our job search training program. They advise, support, help customize cover letters, resumes and encourage and motivate. Their goals are to help their assigned group of job seekers to secure professional, skill appropriate positions and move into economic security.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support assigned job seeker pool which may be aligned with one or more professional sectors
- Meet with job seekers to create an overall job search strategy and orient them to UpGlo search tools, trainings and networking events.
- Provide customized services and one-on-one-coaching to guide them in the professional job search (i.e. resume tailoring, interview practice, cover letters, salary negotiation, etc.)
- Maintain relationships with existing employer partners and share candidates for opportunities within our employer network
- Conduct strategic outreach to build new employment relationships and share leads for employer partnerships with Regional Program Director
- Strategically utilize the UpGlo volunteer/alumni network and events to support job placement
- Facilitate job seeker recruitment for assigned events
- Help facilitate assigned networking and mock interview events
- Maintain detailed relationship records using Salesforce database
- Share job placement and network success stories with development team
- Participate on organizational projects as needed
- Providing back-up for the ESA Manager as needed
- Complete other duties and/or projects as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- 2 + years of related work experience in a coaching, workforce or human resources role a plus
- Strong coaching skills and cross-cultural sensitivity
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
