Video Contest for Teens and Young Adults

Guidelines

1.     The Video must be 120 seconds or less in length.

2.     All submissions should focus on findings from the 2012 Surgeon General’s Report, “Preventing Tobacco Use among Youth and Young Adults.

3.     The Video must be original content created for this contest. Do not submit a video that has been submitted elsewhere or previously displayed publicly through any means.

4.     The Video must be submitted through www.challenge.gov

5.     The Video must not have visual or verbal mention of any websites other than CDC's Smoking & Tobacco Use website (www.cdc.gov/tobacco) or SG website (www.surgeongeneral.gov).

6.     Videos should not include endorsements of private products, services, or enterprises.

7.     Videos containing profane language, violence or weapons, sexually explicit content, or personal attacks on people will not be considered.

8.     Videos containing material that is obscene, offensive, or slanderous will not be considered.

9.     Videos containing material that promotes bigotry, racism, or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age will not be considered.

1.     El video debe tener una duración de 120 segundos o menos.

2.     Todas las entradas deben concentrarse en los hallazgos del Informe del 2012 de la Cirujana General de los EE. UU. titulado "Prevención del Tabaquismo entre los Jóvenes y Adultos Jóvenes.”

3.     El contenido del video debe ser una creación original para este concurso. No envíe un video que haya sido enviado a otras partes o que previamente se haya divulgado públicamente por cualquier medio.

Poster Contest for Kids

Poster Contest for Kids

Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are eligible to enter the SunWise with SHADE® 2012 Poster Contest for great prizes!  They can be enrolled in a public, private, territorial, tribal, U.S. Department of Defense, or home school, or can enter through a sponsoring club, such as an art or science club; scouting organization; or 4-H club.  Entries are categorized by K–3rd grades or 4th–8th grades.

Submitted posters must meet the following criteria:

Be original and drawn by handPaper size must be 8-1/2 x 11 inchesPosters must include at least FIVE Sun-Safety Action Steps*Attach the official entry form to the back of each poster submittedEntries must be received no later than April 1, 2012 (deadlines vary for some states - see link below)

Picture it! Safe workplaces for everyone. The open submission period for the OSHA Picture It! Safe Workplaces for Everyone photo contest will run from May 2, 2011, until 11:59 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2011.

In celebration of our 40th anniversary, OSHA announces the Picture It!: Safe Workplaces for Everyone photo contest. The contest challenges anyone with a passion for photography to capture an image of workplace safety and health and share it with OSHA. The goal of the contest is to kick off a national collaboration that relies on your talent, imagination and creativity to raise awareness of workplace safety and health. You can interpret "image of workplace safety and health" in any way you choose; you are not restricted to particular subjects or themes.

Prizes will be awarded for the most outstanding portrayals of occupational safety and health in terms of artistic value and ability to raise awareness of safety and health to the general public. Specifically, photographs will be judged against the following criteria:

Quality of photographSuitability for possible use in OSHA publicationsClarity of the safety and health information (or "message") conveyedOriginalityCreativityInclusion of worker, employer, or workplace imageryOSHA at 40
