Assistant Project Manager: A proactive, energetic Assistant Project Manager is required to support a senior Project Manager with the ongoing management of projects and client support to ensure multiple small construction projects are completed to time and budget.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a leading specialist in the design, supply and install of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems to blue chip construction companies and house builders. Based close to Hemel Hempstead town in an attractive rural location the company offers a good supportive and friendly working atmosphere.
This new position would suit a graduate (or individual seeking their second job) seeking to build a career in “renewables” project management. Full training provided. (We would also be keen to hear from more mature individuals with bags of energy, with construction sector experience, seeking a less pressured role in a smaller company prior to retirement). Flexible/Part Time will be considered for the right candidate.
Working with the Operations Manager, Procurement and Senior Project Manager the main responsibilities will include:
-Liaison with the Client’s Site Managers to gain understanding / intelligence and establish site progress
-Report site readiness for commencement of works
-Forecast reporting
-Report potential programme delays and agree resolutions
-Organise & manage labour resources
-Manage & maintain manual and system job files during project management process
-Maintenance of project management systems and procedures.
Skills and Experience:
-Good communicator – ability to express yourself well both verbally and in writing is important
-Ability to represent the company well on site and deal with day-to-day site and contractual issues to avoid disputes.
-High energy, proactive, takes action – quick to go to site as required
-Previous New Build Construction Projects experience desirable (not essential).
-Experience with site management of labour and resources desirable (not essential).
-Driving licence
