Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is a global leader (not for profit) in strengthening health systems in developing countries. It relies on some of the leading thinkers and managers in public health bridging the gap between knowledge and practice. Increasingly we want to use our intranet as the centerpiece of a suite of tools for knowledge exchange, collaboration and elements of service delivery.


We have an ambitious plan to increase regular users from 200 to over 1500 in 40 countries within two years, with much work to be done to design and implement customer solutions while engaging the business in how it will serve their needs based on a distributed publishing and training model.


The successful candidate will support projects, technical advisors and country programs in the development and design of solutions, spaces and services for their internal customers. The position is full-time, and can be based in Arlington/Virginia, Medford/ Massachusetts or one of our country offices in Africa. The role is within the Organizational Learning Team.


Specific Responsibilities:


  1. Design, maintenance and development of the intranet IA

  2. Overall responsibility for ensuring excellent user experience

  3. Measurement, analysis and reporting

  4. Customer relationships and promotion

Qualifications:*


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (IA, UX, Web Design, Information Science, Library Studies or HCI), or in a related discipline (marketing, communications, knowledge management, ICT) augmented by further study of one or some of the ‘relevant disciplines’ listed above.

  • 4+ years of experience developing, implementing and maintaining the IA and design of large and complex web sites (preferably intranets)

  • Demonstrated experience of managing the interface of an intranet with other information repositories, including issues of governance, policy and information standards

  • Knowledge of site analytics and reporting on key business metrics

  • Proven relationship building skills to allow partnership development with internal constituents

  • Track record of strong on-time delivery
