BRAC USA seeks a highly motivated candidate to work with a dedicated team based in New York City. BRAC USA was founded in 2007 as an independent affiliate that supports the international NGO, BRAC. Our mission is to empower people and communities in situations of poverty, illiteracy, disease, and social injustice. Our interventions aim to achieve large scale, positive changes through economic and social programs that enable men and women to realize their potential.
BRAC is a development success story, spreading innovative poverty solutions born in Bangladesh to 11 other countries and is considered by most measures to be the largest international development organization in the world. BRAC is headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh with 115,000 full-time staff reaching an estimated 138 million people through its holistic approach to alleviating poverty. BRAC’s core values are innovation, integrity, inclusiveness, and effectiveness.
BRAC USA’s purpose is to raise awareness, mobilize resources, and make grants to reduce poverty, improve health, provide education, and empower women and girls. To date, BRAC USA has raised over $100 million and made 150 grants to support BRAC’s work in Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. These grants include catalytic support in microfinance, livelihood development services, health, education, agriculture, human rights and legal services, adolescent empowerment, research, and capacity building. BRAC USA has facilitated another $300 million in debt, equity, and philanthropic grants directly to BRAC entities in support of its mission, as well as provided a range of specialized and technical services. Position Description
The Program and Development Associate will report directly to a Program Manager and work as an integral part of an intimate, highly effective team to support grant making, strategic program services, public education, and fundraising. This will include, but is not limited to:
- Support team members with database management including pipeline reports, grant stewardship, prospect researching, and updating BRAC USA’s contact management system.
- Write LOIs, proposals, grant agreements, and due diligence reports.
- Create presentations and marketing materials to showcase program successes.
- Prepare team members for meetings by conducting research, developing strategies, and arranging briefing packages.
- Work with program managers to reach organizational goals for public education, strategic and program services, and grant making to BRAC programs.
- Represent the organization at external meetings as requested.
- Facilitate excellent internal relations, staff coordination, and communication.
- Lead special projects in areas of interest.
- Work as an integral part of a small team and conduct all other activities required to ensure successful daily operations and highly effective management.

- Diplomatic and highly effective on an interpersonal level in addition to cross-cultural sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding.
- Demonstrated skills at prospect and pipeline research, business correspondence, reports, proposals, and blog posts.
- Strong organizational ability and experience with databases/contact management systems such as Salesforce, Wealth Engine, and RelSci.
- Highly skilled user of Google and Microsoft Office applications.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in international development or other related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree required with preference given to international development, economics, political science, and other related fields.
