ABOUT COMPANY
Discover Books is a for-profit organization with a socially-minded mission: to divert books from landfills, help fund library sustainability, and provide meaningful solutions to the global problem of illiteracy. Discover Books collects used books through thrift stores, library discards, residential pick-ups, and book collection boxes in ten cities across North America. The company resells, donates or responsibly recycles used books to achieve its mission. To date, Discover Books has donated more than 9-million books to those-in-need and has diverted over 500-million pounds of books from landfills.
Job Responsibilities/Requirements (include, but are not limited to):
- Sort and place books on mechanical line efficiently to achieve daily quota
- Manage workflow and keep work area clean
- Be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hours a day
- Stage product for loading
- Tag inventory and place in designated spaces
- Package product for shipping
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Eligible for medical/dental/vision insurance, holiday pay, sick/vacation days after short probationary period.
- Discover Books is a drug-free workplace. All candidates will be subject to a background check as well as a pre-employment drug screen.
