As the Brand Marketing Specialist for Basketball, you will assist the Brand Manager with the execution of plans for an assigned Marketing category plan in order to driver consumer buzz and connection with Nike and key Nike products. You’ll maintain close relationships with category influencers and manage their involvement in each marketing program. You’ll work closely with Sports, Events, and Global Marketing teams and Field Representatives to identify influencers and stay current on market trends. You’ll also work with the Retail team to ensure product placement on key sales associates and to garner data to better evaluate success metrics. You’ll also assist with the design and production of appropriate collateral and execute a seasonal survey to gather feedback, which will be incorporated into season-end recaps. You’ll manage budgets as assigned and support the development of strategic marketing plans and briefs by creating Powerpoint or Keynote presentations. You’ll coordinate Integrated Marketing (IM) timelines and calendars and track notes and deliverables from each IM meeting and assist in driving the process for their timely completion. You’ll be a source for gaining instant consumer response/feedback for projects in the planning and execution phase and maintain close ties with the target consumer to help develop/drive a creative marketing plan.

Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Retail Marketing or a related field

• 3 years’ work experience with an emphasis on marketing, promotions, event management, public relations and retail

• 5 years’ related experience in lieu of a degree

• Must be organized and detail oriented

• Proficient with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Keynote

• Effective verbal and written communication skills in formal and informal settings

• Ability to clearly articulate policies and instructions

• Must have a strong interest in understanding the basketball consumer landscape and marketplace trends

• Looking for a creative problem solver

• Must be able to develop and maintain internal and external business relationships

• Must be able to communicate effectively in person and in writing

• Time management skills are essential

• Experience managing and tracking a budget preferred

• Ability to share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management

• Ability to work extended hours during busy times

• Project management experience is preferred

• The ideal candidate is comfortable presenting in front of small audiences
