Position Summary:
HIAS seeks a Manager, Special Fundraising Campaigns to support the fundraising efforts of HIAS, particularly through unrestricted and restricted funds from individuals. S/he is also responsible for overseeing and implementing strategies for direct mail and planned giving.
Essential Functions:
• Leads direct mail efforts by working with consultants and External Affairs staff to develop, plans and implements a strategic mail plan, including decisions regarding content, theme, audience, creation of data files and managing vendor relationships.
• Oversees preparation, development and execution of solicitation and donor stewardship mailings, including high-touch packages.
• Oversees planned giving program by partnering with the planned giving consultant, External Affairs staff, Finance staff, and financial institutions to administer and manage planned giving program, including charitable gift annuities, estates, and trusts.
• Leads efforts through marketing, stewardship, and cultivation, partnering with planned giving consultant and External Affairs staff to develop planned giving web content and eblasts; creates and refreshes print materials; works with planned giving consultant and direct mail agency on direct mail integration plan.
• Collaborates with Finance staff and consultants to ensure that registrations are tracked, processed, and submitted.
• Provides organizational and financial documentation to consultants to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborates with Finance staff, consultants, and financial institutions regarding applicable organizational and financial information and documentation for purposes of addressing the particular requirements of each state, including notification and registration materials to states, and tracking continuing registration needs, actions and compliance.
• Produces fundraising reports to monitor and evaluate progress and results.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
• A minimum of five years of experience in development, focusing on direct mail and planned giving.
• Expertise in Raiser’s Edge, including high proficient in Queries and Exports.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Respect for donor confidentiality
• High level of attention to detail; demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines.
