Building Maintenance Worker I - The Salvation Army - Atlanta, GA

Performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings and equipment; performs minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repair work. Provides custodial care for the common areas of the building and the grounds; runs errands and provides assistance to the Director of RSS and Business Manager

Required Experience:

Knowledge of general building and grounds maintenance practices and procedures.. Ability to meet attendance requirements.


Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform heavy lifting. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to learn by method of on-the-job training including the ability to follow instructions. Ability to perform routine and minor repair and maintenance activities of buildings and grounds. Ability to use and maintain maintenance equipment and tools effectively and in a safe manner. Ability to follow instructions, plan and organize work, and adhere to timetables with limited supervision.


Required Education:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
