Job Summary UPS is hiring individuals to work as part-time Package Handlers. This is a physical, fast-paced position that involves continual lifting, lowering and sliding packages that typically weigh 25 – 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs. Part-time employees work a 5 day work week, inclussive of any of the following days and times: Tuesday through Friday 5 AM until 9 AM, Saturdays 7 AM until 10 AM and Sundays 6:45 PM until 10:45 PM (this includes holidays except New Year’s Day and Christmas Day). Package Handlers receive a competitive hourly rate and also an attractive benefits package. Please note that these opportunities are part-time only working approximately 17 1/2 – 22 hours per week. Other Job Duties: Prepare and close out flight paperwork for all Hub Out-bounds Ensure accuracy in reporting Flag inspections in OPSCAN PC for Government Agency Review Prepare cost operation files and reports Communicate errors to the appropriate parties Ensure accuracy in recordkeeping Maintain communication with internal customers with efforts to process improvement Sort and load package at acceptable levels Preferred Skills Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel – Preferred BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer Must be able to continuously lift and lower packages that may weigh up to 70 pounds. To do this, you must be able to frequently adjust your body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn and pivot. In addition, you must work in an environment with variable temperatures and must be able to read words and numbers. Must have a personal transportation plan in place to arrive and depart the UPS work site, particularly for shifts when public transportation may not be operating. Must be at least 18 years old.
