General Responsibilities:


The Associate Director of Planning and Inventory will oversee a team of planning manager and five planners. S/he is responsible for coaching and mentoring this team with the ultimate goal of building a word class supply chain planning with talent, technology and effective/efficient processes.The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the execution of department strategies in planning and inventory, define and align standard process improvements across sites, and lead the supply and inventory planning quarterly processes.


Specific Responsibilities:


Planning and sourcing Strategy (40%)


  • In partnership with the Director of Supply Chain and drawing on the experience of our field-based teams, help to create a global supply chain planning strategy that addresses Partners In Health’s short-term and long-term needs along the entire product lifecycle, from procurement planning to distribution.

  • Continually define and review planning and inventory strategy to support the sites.

  • Develop inventory targets and goals for both the regions and the organization with the objective of maximizing inventory turns and minimizing inventory stock-outs in the field while maintaining economic order quantities that support the budget.

  • Establish effective inventory management controls that align with sites and global strategy.

Team Management (30%)


  • Build and create development plans for staff; provide mentorship and identify relevant training opportunities for Boston- and site-based employees.

  • Define team structure and responsibilities, manage workloads and interactions with other departments and teams, responsible for delivering on the planning and sourcing team’s overall goals.

System and process implementation (30%)


  • Design and implement an end-to-end value chain, including site segmentation, product and supply chain optimization.

  • Partner with the clinical and pharmacy team and other key stakeholders to conduct and sustain quarterly meetings in Haiti.

  • Help to implement and integrate Serenic/Navision with GMDH (forecasting software) to the supply chain planning process in Haiti.

  • Partner with other internal and external partners to drive continuous improvement in business operations processes.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Ten plus years of relevant experience in a leading role within planning and inventory management for an international organization.

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification highly desirable.

  • Related experience in managing with multiple planning (ERP) systems and interfaces.

  • Proficient in Microsoft based systems (Strong Excel, Access and MySQL).

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage management staff and functional leads.

  • Strong Leadership capability and people management skill to lead a team of managers and planners.

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement change and teach others the value of improved processes.

  • Preference for teamwork and a collaborative work environment.

  • Commitment to social justice and health care issues, as well as PIH values.
