United States of America: Health and Housing Design Officer

About Global Health Corps

Global Health Corps (GHC) is a leadership development organization focused on building the next generation of diverse, disruptive global health leaders. Founded in 2009, we competitively recruit talented professionals (ages 21-30) from a range of sectors and backgrounds and place them in high-impact roles within partner organizations — including Clinton Health Access Initiative, Partners in Health, Planned Parenthood Global, and Government Ministries in Zambia, Rwanda, and Uganda — working on the front lines of health equity in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, the US, and Zambia.

GHC is seeking fellows from a wide range of backgrounds, geographies, and expertise. Through a one-year paid fellowship program, fellows provide the expertise and leadership potential needed to fill capacity gaps in global health.

About Placement Organization

ARCHIVE Global is an international non-profit organization that utilizes housing design to reduce the global burden of disease. Working within socioeconomically vulnerable communities around the world, we apply innovative, low-cost housing design solutions to improve living conditions for the poorest of the poor, directly resulting in: lower rates of morbidity and mortality, improved school attendance and academic performance, increased economic opportunity and earning potential, and better access to financial services & credit.

With projects in Haiti, Cameroon, Bangladesh, the UK, the United States, India, Ethiopia, and Bolivia, ARCHIVE has directly benefitted hundreds of families with improved living conditions and better health. We’ve also reached thousands of people with training, education, and awareness campaigns promoting the vital connection between housing and health. Through our unique and innovative preventive health approach, we are developing a sustainable, evidence-based model for tackling the root causes of persistent, cyclic poverty.
