The Centralized Programs Division provides program enhancement support to all PARD Programs. The Inclusion/Program Support Unit within the Centralized Programs Division provides holistic program staff development, program support, and inclusion support services.
The purpose of this position is to implement program youth development best business practices through the department. The Youth Business Process Coordinator will be responsible for creating and implementing training for Parks Department staff. Relevant Duties include:
- Experience and knowledge of Out-of-School Time program models and of facilitating experiential curriculum to youth service workers
- Working in the field of youth development,
- Designing new programs,
- Researching industry best business practices,
- Developing and evaluating program models; and selecting and implementing innovative programs
- Facilitating educational training and presentations.

$19.36 – $24.59 per hour

Variable – 40 hrs. per week
- Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm
- Hours vary depending upon program needs.
- May be required to work during special events. Evenings, Weekends & Holidays may be required.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education and Experience in the following:
- Prefer major course work and/or Master’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation, Education or related field.
- Experience in a recreational or youth development setting providing out of school programming, that include facilitating experiences and group processes, researching best business practices, designing new programs, and evaluating programs
- Experience and knowledge in contemporary Out of School Time efforts within the City of Austin
- Experience providing training/technical expertise to youth program staff in the development stages of recreation education programs, including conducting program assessments and in writing program improvement plans.
- Experience providing assistance and making recommendations on improvements/corrective actions in recreation education programs, that include observation of program staff; identifying technology, curriculum and lesson plan needs to improve such programs.
- Experience developing and evaluating recreation education program models, and selecting and implementing new program designs.
- Experience analyzing data sets in recreation education programs, such as spending trends, training needs; program efficacies, program deficiencies; program quality and outcome based data; and youth attendance/participation.
- Experience creating summary/standard reports and statistical analyses to make recommendations to improve recreation education programs; and in identifying the levels of recreation education programming standards.
- Experience in recruiting, training and supervising temporary employees, instructors and/or volunteers.
- Experience in managing public relations for an employer, including acting as a liaison for the employer between different organizational units, communities and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook.

- With other staff assistance, tasks may involve occasional lifting, pushing, carrying or using a force equal to one-hundred (100) pounds.
