Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator - Stanford University - Stanford, CA

The Stanford Cognitive and Systems Neuroscience laboratory within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University’s School of Medicine is looking for an organized, bright, motivated individual to fill the role of Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to participate in the organization and coordination of a large lab with numerous research projects on brain development in children Autism Spectrum Disorders and Learning Disabilities. This position will entail recruitment of participants for research studies, general organization of the lab, managing a team of part time employees, coordinating data collection, and insuring compliance and safety under the supervision of the Principle Investigator, and assisting with the overall efficiency and well-being of the lab.

Duties include:

• Schedule and/or call subjects for appointments; contact participants with reminders or other requirements.

• Prepare, distribute, and process questionnaires.

• Perform clerical duties in the preparation of regulatory documents. Maintain all forms and documents, including consent forms and master subject logs. File all appropriate correspondence.

• Assist with the screening, recruiting, and obtaining consent of study participants. Review medical records and/or perform telephone or in-person interviews to gather data, as needed.

• Administer standard study questionnaires and tests, score test measurements and questionnaires, and code data for computer entry. Perform quantitative review of forms, tests, and other measurements for completeness and accuracy.

• Extract data from source documents for research studies as directed. Collect data and complete case report forms.

• Prepare, process, and ship specimens/samples accurately under well-defined requirements.

• Order and maintain equipment and supplies.

• Process study compensation payments and thank you letters to subjects upon completion of trial activities. Assist with post-study activities, as needed.

• Perform standard administrative duties including arranging meetings, scheduling conference rooms, managing equipment, and making travel arrangements.

• May guide and train student and/or contingent workers including scheduling, assigning and prioritizing workloads.

• May serve as the point of contact for general maintenance, health and safety, and other facility concerns within the unit(s); report any incidents or potential safety problems to appropriate representatives. Track completion of required training.

• Maintain approved content on websites.

• May perform human resources transactional support, e.g. time cards, I9s, and/or faculty affairs support.

Qualifications

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

• Familiarity with Autism and Learning Disabilities resources in the Bay Area

• Experience with recruitment of research participants for clinical studies

• Basic computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.

• Ability to follow through and complete assigned tasks.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):


Two year college degree and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

General knowledge of medical terminology.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:


• Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.

• Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.

• Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.
