Examples of Duties:
Enter new cases for civil, juvenile, and probate courts.
Processes and recalls warrants.
Processes subpoenas, summons, alias summons, motions, pleadings, and automatic stays.
Prepares daily, monthly, and quarterly statistical reports.
Process incoming and out going mail.
Expunges court records per departmental policy.
Analysis court orders.
Maintains files and filing systems; maintains court files in proper chronological order; maintains Chronological Case Summary.
Maintains court order book.
Pulls court files for daily processing.
Enter judgments in judgment docket book.
Set court dates.
Certify court documents for authenticity.
File cases and court records, daily.
Process special orders.
File marks all pleadings received in court; receive stamps all Court orders.
Answer telephone and greet visitors providing information, assistance, and direction; provide assistance to attorneys, prosecutors, and the general public.
Process garnishment orders.
Process Judge Pro-Tempore pay vouchers.
Process payments.
Work with Bookkeeping.
Perform other related essential duties as required
Typical Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to meet all employer and Department hiring requirements, including of passage of a drug test.
Working knowledge of standard office procedures and computer software programs used by the Clerk’s Office, with ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks and operations.
Working knowledge of standard policies, practices, and legal requirements of the Department, with ability to effectively process various court documents, and apply appropriate procedures accordingly.
Knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation, and ability to prepare correspondence and written reports as required.
Knowledge of basic filing systems and ability to create and maintain accurate and complete Department files.
Ability to properly operate standard office equipment, such as computer, calculator, fax machine, copier, and telephone.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other County departments, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.
Ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of department information and records according to state requirements.
Ability to comply with all employer and department policies and work rules, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct.
Ability to understand, memorize, retain,, and carry out written and oral instructions and present findings in oral or written form.
Ability to compare or observe similarities and differences in data, and compile, collate, or classify data.
Ability to work alone with minimum supervision and with others in a team environment.
Ability to work several tasks at the same time and work rapidly for long periods, often under time pressure.
Ability to apply knowledge of people and/or locations, and plan and layout assigned work projects.

Ability to comprehend and correctly use a variety of informational documents including court orders, attorney filings, bonds, warrants, new filings, and other reports and records.

Ability to maintain personal composure and tactfully handle difficult situations and interpret questions correctly; as well as ability to behave in a friendly, understanding, helpful, and professional manner with clients and customers, coworkers, supervisors, and the general public.
Must have the ability to receive, process, and disburse a great deal of money with accuracy.
Incumbent performs duties in a standard office environment, involving sitting/walking at will, lifting/carrying objects weighing less than 25 pounds, pushing/pulling objects, bending, reaching, crouching/kneeling,keyboarding, close vision, handling/grasping objects, speaking clearly, and hearing sounds/communication. Incumbent occasionally works extended hours.
