**
Job Summary:**
The Global Opportunities Director will help advance the Agency’s position vis a vis global opportunities and the increased revenue these global awards may net. This is a new business development oriented position. Global opportunities are defined as institutional public or private donor opportunities that may work across more than one region. Awards are not limited by donor source (USG, non-USG, foundations, corporations) or by mechanism type (Leaders with Associate, Private Public Partnership Framework, Indefinite Quantity Contracts, etc). Global opportunities may rely on establishing or strengthening relationships on a worldwide scale such as with an INGO or Caritas entities. Working in partnership with others, the incumbent will address gaps in current business development systems to:

  • Create an intentional process for how the Agency targets, pursues, bids and secures global opportunities.

  • Develop and manage processes to implement and report across global awards.

  • In concert with IDEA leadership, devise a strategic plan for forecasting new revenue generated from global opportunities.

  • Generate a revenue target for global opportunities.

  • Posture the Agency for specific global opportunities through the advancement of technical or other merits and engagement with marketing and communications.

  • Coordinate global awards so as to allow the country programs to pivot and seek country-specific funding.

  • Develop and disseminate messaging within the Caritas communities on the advantages (and constraints) of global awards.

  • Develop and disseminate messaging with strategic partners, such as key INGOs.

  • Leverage global opportunities as a means to advance CRS’ thought leadership and advocacy positions in the international humanitarian and development sector.

The position advances IDEA’s core service of new business activities (Prepositioning, Pursuing Opportunities, and Leveraging Results). This new position will work within IDEA to:

a) Ensure a new global opportunity takes into consideration other existing awards,

b) Offer a cross department coordinating ensuring VPs and Directors from Program Impact and Quality Assurance, Regions, Overseas Operations leadership, and others are appropriately engaged

c) Provide or coordinate business development and/or award management support by seeking assistance from the IDEA donor teams, and

d) Provide common reporting across global bids.

To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate is someone who thrives on helping others take action through influence without authority. This requires tact and finesse, with an eagle eye to efficient processes and thoughtful strategy. The ideal candidate will have a mix of patience and perseverance. Positive energy and passion for the work are critical attributes.
