Passenger Receipts Clerk - SEPTA - Philadelphia, PA





SEPTA’s Regional Rail Division is recruiting for a Passenger Receipts Clerk. The successful candidates will be responsible for receiving large volumes of Commuter train tickets and cash collected by our Railroad Conductors. Passenger Receipts Clerks must count, verify and audit cash reports, receipts and tickets and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, secure environment, on various shifts. We are open seven days a week, 365 days a year. Clerks are also responsible for the daily balancing of cash, preparing bank deposits, and other clerical duties as assigned, including lifting and carrying boxes that weigh up to 30 pounds.

The pay rate for this position is $19.52 an hour.

Job Requirements:


  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have one (1) year experience, (within the last 3 years) working as a bank teller, check cashing agency teller, casino teller, or railroad ticket agent.

  • Must be available to work all shifts, seven days a week.

  • Must be able to accept mandatory overtime without notice.*

  • Mandatory overtime includes forced assignments of additional shifts (this is overtime) either before/or after your scheduled shift, or on your scheduled days off, including on all holidays. Potential candidates must realize that forced assignments are non-negotiable. Due to emergencies, all employees must be flexible enough to be available to work at any time, throughout the day, every day of the year, if needed.

  • Must pass a data entry and a math test (to be given prior to the interview process).

  • Must be able to work in a controlled environment.
