Community Partners International (CPI) is an exciting international nonprofit organization where your work will make a difference. We are U.S. based, and work with local partner organizations in Myanmar to expand access to quality health services and generate the resources, local capacity and coordination necessary for partners and the people of Myanmar to meet their own health and community needs. Our main office is in Yangon with field offices in Mae Sot (Thailand), Mandalay, Myitkyina, Hpa-An and Dawei.


CPI has 17 years’ experience working with ethnic minority, civil society, and health organizations operating in rural, complex humanitarian and conflict-affected areas.


CPI is seeking a motivated finance professional to oversee CPI’s Finance work in its Berkeley Office. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records in compliance with CPI’s policies and procedures, ensuring US Government reporting requirements are fulfilled, managing the annual corporate audit in Berkeley Office, handling day to day financial functions including entering financial data into Fund EZ, as well as ensuring adequate supporting documentation exists, assisting in creation of the annual plan, preparing reconciliations, monthly/quarterly closings, reviewing and codifying financial expenditures and submitting batch entries into Fund EZ.


Primary Responsibilities


· Support in maintaining CPI financial systems, policies & organizational standards and donor requirements


· Ensure compliance to the US Government requirements, CPI policies and donor requirements


· Assist during annual audit by providing information needed by the auditor


· Oversee preparation of tax returns and related filings for US based staff


· Regularly assess indirect support costs and seek opportunities to establish/negotiate an indirect cost rate (NICRA) with the US Government


· Handle daily expenditures and prepare payroll for the Berkeley office


· Submit timely and accurate financial data of accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card transactions.


· Code and record all financial data transactions in the financial software on a weekly / monthly basis and submit to Finance Director on a monthly basis for consolidation


· Reconcile all advances, receipts and invoices on a monthly basis in alignment with audit requirements


· Collaborate with program development to oversee grants including Google Grant for AdWords and online campaigns, including campaign setup, updating and reporting


· Manage 3rd party platform gift processing systems (NFG, See Your Impact, Global Giving, etc.)


· Oversee PayPal account, process checks donations and transfer funds to bank account


· Communicate regularly with donor, country office and partner organizations regarding donations and fund transfers


· Manage banking processes including fund transfers, deposits, reconciliations


· Prepare financial reports for management and program staff using Fund EZ


ESSENTIAL SKILLS


· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. ACCA, CPA or CIMA qualified is preferred


· At least 3-5 years’ experience in related position. Project financial management experience is preferred


· Advanced knowledge of excel, as well as understanding of word-processing and power point


· Exposure to NGO work is a plus


· Knowledge and experience in the use of accounting software, mainly Fund EZ


· Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills


· Experience working in a multicultural, low-resource setting


· Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.


· Ability to establish priorities in a time sensitive environment and meet deadlines with strong attention to consistency, detail, and quality
