Position Summary: **
Iraqi Senior Advisors provide the highest-level strategic and tactical input to ongoing and potential operations in Iraq for MSI and for our parent company, Tetra Tech. We are recruiting for both short-term and long-term positions with postings both in the US and in Iraq.
Responsibilities:
MSI and Tetra Tech have a number of current and anticipated projects in Iraq dealing with public sector reform, service delivery at the local and national level, IDPs and the administration of justice. The Advisors will help shape our thinking on key problems and solutions in Iraq. The Advisors will:
- Provide desk studies of current status in key areas.
- Support brainstorming on problems and solutions in key areas.
- Utilize existing contacts to gather current and strategic information.
- Write as needed.
- Provide long-term and short-term technical assistance as appropriate.
- Sectors include:
- Municipal services (health, education, infrastructure, etc.)
- Public financial management
- Energy sector
- Information management systems
- Political environments and political economy
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of development experience in key sectors.
- Direct experience working in or on Iraq, including at least one year 2013-2016.
- Existing network of contacts in current positions of authority in the Iraqi public and private sectors and among consultants with relevant experience preferred.
- A proven ability to write to the highest professional standards in English and/or Arabic.
- Broad availability over the next 3-6 months, including for travel to the region.
