Position:


CDC’s Emergency Response and Recovery Branch (ERRB), is seeking an Epidemiologist, Health Scientist or a Medical Officer to serve as the Lead of CDC’s Global Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Team in Atlanta, GA.


Duty Location: Atlanta, GA


Areas of responsibilities include:


Provide vision, leadership and direction for CDC’s global, regional and country-based environmental engineering health programs and activities directly associated with WASH activities in humanitarian and recovery settings.


International expert in WASH promotion with active or recently active collaborations and partnerships.


Develop and implement program plans, priorities, goals, objectives and broad operating policies for CDC to assess, respond and reinforce disrupted environmental public health systems of countries in crisis.


Provide expert environmental engineering advice to senior staff at all levels on matters related to formulating objectives, policies, plans and organizational structure for WASH.


Document history of publication and successful initiation of WASH projects and programs in low-income countries and humanitarian emergency settings.


Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate water and sanitation infrastructure and technology for developing country and humanitarian emergency settings.


Monitor and evaluate country-level and emergency WASH program against standards and international indicators to ensure that programs are evidence-based and implemented in a comprehensive and cost-effective manner.
