Job Title: Field Service Engineer – Security Systems

Introduction:
My client is a leading nationwide service provider of high quality security solutions to their prestigious client base throughout the UK. Due to continued expansion they now have a requirement for a Field Service Engineer – Security Systems to join their team. Based from home and covering the Middlesex, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire areas the successful candidate will be responsible for travelling to customer sites and carrying out small works upgrades, planned preventative maintenance, service and repair to a variety of security systems including; CCTV, Door Entry, Access Control and Aerial/Satellite equipment. Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be flexible in their approach to travel.
This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force who has an electrical/electronic background with experience of Security Systems.
Responsibilities:
- Attend customer sites in Middlesex, Berkshire, Hertfordshire Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas carrying out a range of tasks including; fault diagnosis, testing and repair of a range of products and systems.
- Carry out routine maintenance and servicing of equipment as required.
- Complete quality control checks providing feedback on jobs and surveys to ensure that the systems comply and are maintained to the required regulatory standards.
- Carry out onsite training to customers on the safe operation of equipment.
- You will be required to organise your own schedule in order to carry out work in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide technical support to customers and colleagues.
- Carry out on call duties on a rota basis and respond promptly to any “call out” from Company customers to ensure guaranteed service commitments.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Promote the reputation of the company and create a first class impression of the company at all times.
- Maintain health and safety with regard to the company works and equipment on site.
- Maintain company assets in good condition including materials, tools, equipment and vehicle.
- Create sales leads and opportunities to encourage growth of the business.
Applicant Requirements:
Essential:
- Most hold Electrical/Electronics bias with experience of working with security systems.
- Logical thinker and a good problem solver with an enthusiasm to fault find and fix.
- Self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface at all levels.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Able to work and remain calm under pressure.
- Be flexible in your approach to work – must be available to be part of on call rota 1 in every 8-9 weeks.
- Full driving licence.
Desirable:
- IP conversant and able to fault find on networks.
- Understanding of ping and other network diagnostic tools.
- Able to implement an IP range and implement subnets.
Benefits:
- Salary £26,000 – £32,000, depending on experience.
- Monday – Friday 8am – 4.30pm.
- Callout allowance – £347 per week on call + overtime when called out.
