DWM Holdings is looking to fill a Material Handler position. This position is responsible for the transportation of materials within the production department. This position will transfer material from one location to another and will be involved in the process of picking an order and staging material for the production process. This person reports directly to the Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager, works closely with the Engineering Department, and is a member of the company’s Production team.
Responsibilities:
- Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard, or work
- Reads work orders and follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be
- Continuously determines the material required for each production order and stages the materials in each Zone for the operator to maintain production process
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by crane, forklift or by
- Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using hand-operated crane or
- Assembles crates to contain products using hand tools and precut lumber.
- Restocks Zone bins, baskets, racks, pallets and cabinets within or near plant.
- Receives materials into facility and confirms materials against invoices to verify accuracy of the delivery; assists in inventory
Requirements:
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication and team participation skills a must
- Ability to remain self-motivated and focused on forecasting the next step in production material needs
- Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner
- Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
- Proficient knowledge of OSHA standards, regulations and safety loading practices
- Certified in forklift and overhead crane operations
- Proficient in math and computer technology with the ability to learn new software programs
- Able to handle multiple, complex priorities and balance the needs of each according to production material needs
Strong ability to learn and implement Lean manufacturing practices
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.54 /hour
