Job Summary


Spot check oil measurements by both lease operators and oil transporters without advance notice by working sales tanks to verify the accuracy of run tickets left by either lease operator or oil transporters

Resolve tank rejections and discrepancies between lease operator gauges and oil transporter gauges

Witness or perform observed gravity and temperature, sediment and water determination at lease automatic custody transfer (LACT) unit closings and schedule LACT unit calibrations

Periodically witness pipeline, trucking and LACT unit oil runs

Witness tank strapping performed by transporters or purchasers and document results

Randomly inspect battery sites for security, locks, seals, etc.; communicate Concho Resources sealing policies to transporters and purchasers; check lease operator gauge lines; shake out equipment, thermometers, etc., for accuracy, arranging for the replacement of malfunctioning gauging equipment

Keep lease operators and/or oil transporters advised as to current API standards for oil movement by demonstrating the correct procedures if required

Help develop and enforce company policy regarding gauging practices; provide on-the- job training or retraining of lease operators whose measurement practices depart from API or company standards

Communicate measurement requirements to oil transporters and purchasers and work with oil transporters to make sure that company policy enforced

Perform field training in measurement and LACT units


Education/Experience Required


Applicants are required to possess a current, valid driver license and the ability to meet and maintain eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle


Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent


Must have five or more years of oilfield gauging experience


Knowledge of gas-proving and analysis is preferred


Must have prior work experience and a proficiency with PC-based computer applications


Must be able to work in the United States indefinitely
