Essential Job Functions:
Oversees the handling of large sums of money.
Balances cashiers’ daily collections.
Maintains cashiers’ change fund.
Balances and prepares deposit transactions.
Coordinates cashier training.
Reviews, endorses, and encodes checks for accuracy and completeness.
Resolves taxpayers’ issues and complaints.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements:
Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED)
Certificate.
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible cashiering experience.
Any applicant selected for this position must have a background check completed with results satisfactory to the City of San Antonio and successfully complete the City of San Antonio’s two-phased Cash-Handling Certification Training.
Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment and a Criminal History Records check upon employment.
Must maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) years experience with cash handling and customer services. If required for the position, additional background checks may be conducted. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
