Purpose of the Position


Under the supervision of the Chief, Brand Building Section, the incumbent will help support the Organization’s Brand Building initiatives. The post includes project management of multi-media campaigns, thematic displays and event materials that support organizational priorities.
This post provides brand design, production management and quality control for a whole range of materials that fall within a campaign or production framework while maintaining close adherence to the brand. The post function includes oversight, design, production and quality control of campaign products, events signage, thematic displays and brand-visibility items and includes coordination support for exhibits in NYHQ / Danny Kaye Visitor Centre.


Key Expected Results


  1. Develop concepts, designs and provide creative and technical direction and support for UNICEF campaign, design and multi-media projects in line with the brand. Manage as necessary consultant designers, job planning, scheduling, tracking and payments. Confer with content providers to develop campaign, design and multi-media products in the context of the brand. Ensure a high standard of quality.

  2. Design and produce corporate brand materials and guidelines, including stationery, presentations and corporate identity standards (Brand Toolkit) in line with the new Global Brand Strategy. Ensure correct development and application of the brand, visual consistency and high quality for all materials. Develop templates with instructions for corporate materials. Respond and track global staff queries through the Brand Help Desk, on design and production matters relating to brand standards, according to established workflow.

  3. Design, plan, and supervise production of displays, signage and visibility items in line with organizational priorities. Coordinate approval, schedule and installation of exhibits at Danny Kaye Visitors Centre (DKVC). Identify and contract signage vendors. Responsible for output, setup and quality. Respond to enquiries on design, production, setup and costs of branded displays and signage. Materials coordination: source creative input, process, follow up, write specifications, check invoices. Develop schedules ensuring deadlines are met.

  4. Production of multi-media brand products. Advise on job scheduling. Input corrections, compile all materials for printing or digital production. Prepare digital and print production specifications as dictated by design. Maintain production reference materials. Develop and update Branded digital files uploading them to the Brand Intranet site.

  5. Responsible for the effective operations of the Brand Section’s digital equipment and software; color printer, Mac workstations, network, archival backup system, etc. with support of Mac technician. Manage, organize and maintain the Section’s software. Responsible for support contracts for Mac workstations and digital printing equipment. Enhance the functionality of the operations of the Section by keeping current with latest technology developments and introducing better workflow methods and products.

  6. Maintain a roster of creative resources: brand consultants, signage manufacturers, designers, copywriters, production houses, exhibit suppliers, supply manufacturers to meet the needs of the Section, and DOC.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate


  • University degree in marketing, branding, advertising, design or equivalent professional work experience. Advanced knowledge of digital methods for campaign, print and signage production.

  • An advanced university degree in relevant academic fields will be considered as an asset.

  • Advanced knowledge of software and hardware: Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite, Video Editing Software: Final Cut Pro or AVID, Acrobat, web software, MS
    Office, etc.

  • Two years of relevant work experience in marketing, advertising or graphic design with proven experience managing projects and people.

  • Up to date experience with latest digital design and video technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce a variety of high quality multi-media products.

  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is considered an asset.
