Essential Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties necessary to deliver services to customers and citizens may be assigned.
• Analyzes needs and coordinates resources that will support families/clients
• Serves as point of contact for clients, interviews applicants for benefits and/or services programs, provides information regarding various programs and benefits, general eligibility requirements, and policies and procedures
• Assists clients with completing applications and performs initial screening of applications
• Makes initial contact with clients who drop off or mail in applications in order to facilitate application process
• Assesses and makes appropriate referrals to internal and external resources as needed
• Researches a variety of databases (including local and state agencies’ databases) to obtain and/or verify information needed to process applications. Attaches information to applications for documentation purposes.
• Makes photocopies of documents for case files
• Maintains complex logs and records, forwarding data to appropriate staff member(s)
• Establishes case files in manual and automated systems
• Performs data entry tasks regarding case files
• Updates databases, client files and other automated records as needed
• Assigns applications, copies when required, and distributes to appropriate staff member(s)
• Schedules appointments for clients to meet with staff
• Contacts clients to request needed information or verification
• Answers routine client inquiries via phone and in person
• Provides information regarding programs
• Attends and testifies at administrative hearings
• Assists in the preparation of periodic, special, and other reports for statistics
• Provides assistance in the orientation/training of new staff
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Other duties to provide direct or indirect service to the citizens may be assigned
• When unusual situations occur and/or the City Manager declares a State of Emergency, all City employees may be required to accept special assignments and perform as needed to ensure appropriate service delivery
• Required to participate in emergency operations as needed
• Regular attendance is required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May be called upon to provide some supervisory responsibilities.
