DUTIES:
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing office automation and clerical support. Typical work assignments will include:

•Providing general information regarding office programs;

•Notifying staff members of visitors or incoming telephone calls;

•Preparing time and attendance reports for review and approval by supervisor;

•Preparing travel authorizations and travel vouchers;

•Verifying expenses to ensure travel is within established Department of Justice guidelines;

•Preparing travel vouchers for review and signature by the Administrative Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)


GS-05: To qualify for the GS-5 grade level, applicant must have ONE of the following:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 grade level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience performing administrative or clerical duties in an office environment. Examples of specialized experience: Answering telephones; preparing travel authorizations; receiving and distributing incoming correspondence; using word processing software to create tables of contents or lists or exhibits; ensuring written documents are formatted correctly with accurate spelling, punctuation, capitalization and grammar; and ensuring outgoing correspondence is distributed.

Education: Bachelor’s degree OR 4 years of education above high school level in any field. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, college education must be excess of 60 semester hours or beyond the second year. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
