We are looking for a sharp, enthusiastic, professional to become part of the energy and join our Materials Management Team where you will engage in our efforts to improve patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency.


Requirements:


  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems requiring the use of basic mathematical principles. Ability to develop positive service oriented relationships with hospital staff. Proficient in the operation of a personal computer. Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Acts as Supply Chain Service’s liaison and resource between Surgical Services, Central Processing Department and other hospital departments, staff members, patients, patient family, visitors and vendors.

  • Assist Central Processing with deliveries to the floors and other daily departmental operations such as; perform inventory replenishment for stock and equipment, process receipts of all supply and equipment received.

  • Performs daily inventory updates and adjustments through cycle counts and the preference list process to maintain established inventory par levels.

  • Utilizes the automated Supply Chain system to process daily replenishment orders for stock and non-stock supplies.

  • Brakes down delivered packages and verifies purchase orders against delivery slips. Verifies quantities against materials received. Notes discrepancies and advise supervisor.

  • Ensures all overnight orders are given priority and delivered promptly to the charge nurse the same day of receipt. Complies with procedures established by management for special overnight orders.

  • Promptly receives and refrigerate packages requiring refrigeration. Handle medical/surgical supplies and equipment on a priority basis as specified and directed by supervisor.

  • Rotates stock ensuring that the oldest stock is next to be used and inspects for expired items and removes expired items from stock. Reports damaged supplies and/or equipment to management and labels appropriately.

  • Assists in performing inventory replenishment process including the proper use of the automated inventory programs for supply replenishment, tissue and equipment tracking.

  • Reviews surgery schedule to ensure that special request items, non-stock and inventory items are available for surgical cases.

  • Confirms inventory by visual inspection. Reviews and reports preference list discrepancies and reports required adjustments to supervisor.

  • Prepares surgical services case carts using the preference card pick ticket. Note discrepancies and notifies supervisor of discrepancies. Insures all case cart documentations are complete.
