Basic Dental Assistant - Choctaw Nation - Wilburton, OK

Increases the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of quality oral health procedures and surgeries. The dental assistant performs multiple tasks that require both interpersonal skills and technical skills.

Essential Functions:
Directly assists the operating dentist at chair side.


Carefully charts dental treatment at dentist’s direction.


Sets up the dental instruments and accessories needed for each individual dental procedure/surgery.


Builds rapport with each patient by communicating clearly and identifying patient concerns.


Takes clear and readable diagnostic radiographs.


Practices infection control standards as set forth by company policy and procedures.


Maintains dental equipment by performing basic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.


Increases patient volume by assisting the ward clerk with office duties when needed.


Additional Functions:
Other duties as assigned by management.


Requirements (Education, Experience):
High school diploma or GED.


Requires manual dexterity and ability to sit or stand for long periods of time limited interruption.


Must possess basic computer skills.


Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.


Must obtain radiology certification within first year of employment.
