The Manoff Group, Inc. (TMG) is seeking a candidate for full-time employment as the Project Operations Officer for the USAID-funded ACCELERATE Project at the headquarters office in Washington, DC. This position will have a critical role in supporting the long-term success of the team by managing vital logistical processes and tasks for five partner organizations. The Project Operations Officer also supports scheduling, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and meeting and travel coordination.
ACCELERATE Project Background: As part of the global Ending Preventable Child and Maternal Deaths (EPCMD) initiative, Accelerate aims to hasten the adoption of the highest impact behaviors for families, communities and health systems that could save 15 million children and 600,000 mothers by 2020. ACCELERATE works primarily with USAID Missions and secondarily with others whose combined efforts further reduce maternal and child deaths: other U.S. government agencies, host country governments, donor organizations, NGOs, media, academia, and the private sector.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Operations Officer reports to the Project Director and works closely with ACCELERATE partner staff and the full organization as needed.
The Project Operations Officer is an exempt position. Exempt employees are expected to work the appropriate and necessary time in order to complete assignments and tasks on schedule.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide support for the ACCELERATE Project partners by managing travel and logistics for Country Teams, including coordinating agendas, scheduling meetings, obtaining visas, arranging lodging, and maintaining proper documentation.
- Coordinate activities for meetings and events, including providing necessary documents and materials and arranging audio/visual support when necessary.
- Maintain overall calendar of events for the team, including tracking deadlines and communications Anticipate team needs with a willingness to lend a hand wherever necessary
- Assemble, comment on, and copy edit content for project materials and website pages.
- Research requested technical issues and topics, as requested.
- Help track, organize, and coordinate work streams, ensuring efficient use of online collaboration tools.
- Serve on one ACCELERATE team (Knowledge, Behavior, Data, Sharing), to be determined, depending on background.
- Assist the Project Director and Director of Finance and Operations in the administration of the USAID contract, including timely submission of reporting requirements and invoice processing.
- Other duties as requested.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND BACKGROUND
- Interest in the field of international development, international health and/or social and behavior change.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to independently organize tasks.
- Ability to follow-through on multiple tasks with quality.
- Strong attention to detail based on verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work well on a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in MS Office, social media and Internet applications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in communications, marketing, international development, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the field of activity coordination or international development.
- Fluent English required; proficiency in a foreign language a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States of America.
